This mural was created to help ease children’s medical experiences before surgery.
About my process:
Because this was a hospital, I was only able to paint during non-patient hours. This included weeknights after 7:30 and weekends. Although I had some help from friends and family on weekends, I did most of my painting in the middle of the night. Juggling these hours while still working Mon-Fri as an art therapist was tough. I lost a lot of sleep during this process and tossed aside any social life I might have had. However, this was by far the most satisfying piece I have ever created!
